When the people of Israel wandered in the wilderness for forty years God provided all they needed to survive and thrive. He provided manna and then added quail to their menu. He provided health and saw to it that their clothes, including the soles of their shoes, lasted the entire time they were in the wilderness. He proved to be Yahweh Yireh, the Lord who provides. God always knows exactly what we need and His provisions are always sufficient to meet that need. If that is the case in the physical sense, it is certainly true spiritually. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 we read “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” There are many times that we need the Lord’s power to say no to temptation and yes to righteousness. His grace is always sufficient for the task. When I allow sin into my life, it is never because God’s grace isn’t sufficient – it is because I have trusted in my own insufficient strength and power or have not availed myself of the sufficient grace that God has ready for me. Just so we don’t miss this vital point, He adds that His strength is made perfect in our weakness. His grace is sufficient for you today and His strength WILL be made perfect in your weakness.
