It’s easy to live the non-Christian life. In fact, nothing comes more naturally. Every unredeemed human being lives to please the flesh and they do so without having to plan to or think about how to live. Billions of people in every nation of the world live this way.
The Bible, in Matthew 7:13-14, puts it this way: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
This is one of the most graphic descriptions of the contrast between the followers of Christ and the unredeemed. The followers of Christ will never be in the majority. Jesus is clear here.
There is a narrowness about the Christian faith. Jesus said that He is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the Father except through Him.
The apostle Peter says in Acts 4:12 that salvation is found in no one other than Jesus.
This is the narrow way. Christians have always been accused of being narrow. This is a true accusation, because we proclaim the uniqueness of Jesus Christ and the need for a personal relationship with Him by faith in order to experience forgiveness of sins and a new nature.
On what road do you find yourself?
